Every Kheops Studio adventure game tested (Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern; Return to Mysterious Island; Voyage: Journey to the Moon; Escape from Treasure Island) has the same problem:
When entering a menu (overlay over the 3D game world and the main menu) mouse is extremely slow as are background sprite graphics (butterflies etc).
console is flooded by: fixme:d3d:stretch_rect_fbo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glBlitFramebuffer() @ device.c / 6174

I'm also experiencing the same laggy mouse movement and extremely slow menu animations in the following games: Return to Mysterious Island and The Egyptian Prophecy. Both titles were developed by Kheops Studio. It seems the DIB engine patches considerably improve the performance in the menus but the text is completely missing from the games after the patches. Wine-1.3.10

I still have the reported problem in Wine 1.5.25. The mouse moves much slower in the menus and on the inventory screen than in the rest of the game. Nvidia binary drivers 313.18

--- Comment #9 from Béla Gyebrószki [email protected] --- Still present in wine-5.0-rc2-21-gb95d2f553c. The mouse moves with normal speed when the game is using the software renderer.

This problem is still present with wine-9.15. Mouse movements and interactions are rather slow in the menu and especially in the inventory (as when combining items).
This problem, which only concerns the hardware rendering mode, is quite noticeable in the games “Voyage: Inspired by Jules Verne” and “The Secrets of Da Vinci: The Forbidden Manuscript”.
In “Voyage: Inspired by Jules Verne”, the difference is clear when switching to software rendering mode, which is much smoother (this is the game you should test to see the problem). In “The Secrets of Da Vinci: The Forbidden Manuscript”, there is no software rendering mode, only hardware.
OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS 64bit. NVIDIA Driver Version (proprietary): 535.183.01.
