Steps to reproduce: 1) rm -R .wine/ 2) winetricks ie7 3) wine 'C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore' 4) Browse to 127.0.0.1 with no server running on port 80

No error if you specify http://127.0.0.1 on the commandline; you have to type it in to the location window.

Winetricks IE7 installs a slew of native dlls, and according to our FAQ, using native IE is not supported precisely because of that.

I think WORKSFORME is the most appropriate resolution then.
