Summary: Bioshock: Big daddies are surrounded by red fog Product: Wine Version: 1.3.12 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: regression Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: austinenglish@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=33098) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=33098) screenshot
May be a driver bug, but Big Daddies are surrounded by a red fog. This is separate from bug 24724 (which I don't get on my 9800 GTX). It is similar to bug 22504, which appears to have reappeared (running regression test now).
for a savegame to reproduce it, get: http://austinenglish.com/2_1_2011_12_14_15.bsb
That save game is saved with a Big Daddy right in front of you, for easy testing :-).

wined3d: Disable vertex shader output clamping.
It looks like NV50+ hardware gets you infinities and NaN's in D3D as well for most things, so we should only need special handling for pow and nrm.

The fog in the initial game, e.g., bug 22504, however, is fine.

Still present in wine 1.4-rc6.
Read my latest comment in this bug : http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31834 For me, the bug for ACR is resolved with the latest Nvidia driver 313.x
I sent an email at Austin but i haven't answer from him so i don't know if it was an upstream bug.

With wine-1.5.27-100-g64ead39 and wine-1.4: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-304.88.run - bug still present NVIDIA-Linux-x86-310.19.run - bug is gone NVIDIA-Linux-x86-313.26.run - bug is gone
Note that I was using a GTX 480 instead of the 9800. But since it appears with the older driver, I think we can safely assume it's a driver bug.
