--- Comment #1 from Karsten Elfenbein kelfe@gmx.de 2010-08-31 15:21:34 CDT --- after spliting both conditions it looks like ((IWineD3DTextureImpl *)texture)->resource.pool == WINED3DPOOL_SCRATCH causes the exception

--- Comment #2 from Henri Verbeet hverbeet@gmail.com 2010-08-31 15:46:08 CDT --- "texture=0x11" certainly doesn't look right. Is the d3d9 texture (0xb374190) already freed at that point?

--- Comment #3 from evanh evanh@clear.net.nz 2010-08-31 22:01:03 CDT --- I've just updated to build 177393 and it's working fine for me - Undocked and flying around the station right now.

--- Comment #4 from Karsten Elfenbein kelfe@gmx.de 2010-09-01 03:27:23 CDT --- it works OK like 1 of 20 tries for me (that was how I managed the last playtest)
I can make a d3d and d3d_texture log in the evening. On IRC there was an other player having the same issue.
I got this issue on gentoo64, i7-870, gf460 with 256.* driver

--- Comment #5 from evanh evanh@clear.net.nz 2010-09-01 07:49:26 CDT --- Ubuntu 10.4, 32 bit kernel 2.6.32-24-generic, Athlon64X2 @3400MHz, GF8800GT(G92), 195.36.24 driver, Wine 1.3.1, sound enabled, high shader, no shadows.

--- Comment #6 from evanh evanh@clear.net.nz 2010-09-01 07:52:33 CDT --- Try running repair.exe and/or cache and settings cleared.

--- Comment #7 from evanh evanh@clear.net.nz 2010-09-01 08:02:34 CDT --- Heh, I wonder ... have you tried setting bitsCancelled=0 in prefs.ini?
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24224
--- Comment #8 from evanh evanh@clear.net.nz 2010-09-01 08:03:39 CDT --- Err, scratch that, that Eve bug is before login.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24224
--- Comment #9 from Karsten Elfenbein kelfe@gmx.de 2010-09-01 14:24:07 CDT --- looks like the backtrace looks a bit different each time but always related to something about texture
I got a 900mb d3d,d3d_texture log from the last backtrace in the second file
The slower the machine is the more likely it seems that the exception is not triggered. (slow by adding more debug channels)

--- Comment #10 from Karsten Elfenbein kelfe@gmx.de 2010-09-01 14:24:46 CDT --- Created an attachment (id=30513) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=30513) second file with multiple backtraces
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24224
--- Comment #11 from Karsten Elfenbein kelfe@gmx.de 2010-09-01 14:29:41 CDT --- I can attach the compressed version of the log (1.8mb) if needed

--- Comment #12 from Timo R. btbn@oromit.de 2010-09-02 04:01:33 CDT --- I can confirm this. The bug seems to be related to the Notification-Popup in the top/left corner with information about new mails/skills/certs/... most of the times it happens. But also had it in the middle of gameplay. Backtraces are the same than the ones pastes here. They also change a littlebit from crash to crash. If this bug hits the live-servers todays downtime, this will get a true nightmare.

--- Comment #13 from Karsten Elfenbein kelfe@gmx.de 2010-09-02 12:56:53 CDT --- just got the word that this is actually an Eve bug and wine works as intended (crashing)
it should be fixed in the next testserver build
