Having said that, I've applied your 3 patches to GIT, and the pointer doesn't get warped (although it doesn't deadlock either) in AvP (bug 7613)
There are few requirements for these patches to work: 1. DXGrab have to be enabled (winecfg->Graphics first check-box). 2. The cursor should be invisible/turned off by the application (ex FPS game, not the menu). 3. Optional: remove mouse warping code from the dinput.
