Yes, that could well be true however the application isn't actually working and so we are trying to split up the problem between the dll's to determine what is actually blocking it.

Please don't do that; just file a bug for the observable problem.
Most FIXMEs are harmless (yes, really) and we don't want reported bugs for them.
