This is split from bug 51916. This bug is seen by opening emulator.exe or Nokia_SDK_2_0_Java_em.exe.

The original report says that turning of theming is a workaround but I can't confirm it.

I'm trying this application in older Wine versions to see if i find out if that was a old regression, i have recently tried this on Wine stable 6.0.2 (because it doesn't has pending development patches) with the same results

If you have the problem only with a specific set of themes tell it right away here, along with download links (if those are legit). In that case change the subject of the ticket because it's plain misleading then.

I tried out Light theme and i still got this issue, tried again disabling themes and the emulator UI opened up. But somehow you're not being able to reproduce it with any theme and the applications works out-of-the-box with and without themes.

I've tried many different themes, including Wine's Light theme, and i could reproduce this bug with all of them If that's a issue on my operating system, partitioning, drivers, another Wine component etc and not with the themes, somehow it's affecting theming for me, but strangely only for me, wich is normal as functionality for a multi-platform software like Wine may differ to users.

¿Can you reproduce this bug by using JDK 6u23 instead of 6u21?

I could indeed reproduce the "hang" issue with JDK 6u23. If the percentage in the splash screen gets past 20% before the emulator UI shows up, then it's likely to happen and you don't need to wait until it gets to 98%.

JDK 6u22 works with theming, indicating something has changed in JDK 6u23 that affects Wine (still a Wine bug though).
