This bug is from a copy of a pre-install, pre-patched version from a windows partition.
For more information: Shadowbane.exe is the patcher, and sb.exe is the game client.
Also I just did a quick test with WINEDLLOVERRIDES='msvcrt=n' wine Shadowbane.exe and the patcher works fine (no new patches from wolfpack yet, but seems to check everything fine), and after the patch check, I hit the Play button, the client(sb.exe) loads fine, no error as stated above. To repeat - wine Shadowbane.exe works as well, but the client crashes(sb.exe) with the output I stated above.
Maybe the "keywords" should be changed to something else since the download itself doesnt work, and is another bug all together? The only way to test the game itself is to install it on Windows XP, and copy all the files over to the linux partition.
Also, you dont have to have an account to check and see if its working, the login screen itself is a 3d client render.
