Hmm, things seem to have regressed.  Now it hangs on startup.

I see lots of errors of the sort
err:heap:HEAP_ValidateInUseArena Heap 0x4a0000: prev arena 0x4a0c70 is not prev
for in-use 0x4a0c88

and on the first run it seemed to want gdiplus.
