I thought it was a regression, since it doesn't occur in my 1.4.1 build, but when bisecting it, I ended up with a d3d10 commit, and reverting it doesn't help. Trying it a second time gave strange results, so it may be a race condition or some other weirdness. One of the installer screens asks to install 'Tuneup Utilities'. This screen, however, is often garbled. I'll attach a screenshot.
Nothing revealing in the terminal.

--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2013-06-30 12:47:10 CDT --- With the very same binary, on Wine-1.6rc4 I always get a screen asking me to install "Hotspot Shield", which is slightly messed up in that its buttons are almost offscreen, so it's hard to get past.
On Windows 7, it prompts to install some other crapware, so I don't know whether this screen is also messed up on native.
