--- Comment #4 from DH dave@higherform.com 2009-05-05 16:22:58 --- Still seeing the crash, despite the following procedures:
Completely removed PlayOnLinux, Wine, Wine-gecko, and winbind packages via synaptic Manually deleted all wine and playonlinux wine prefixes Synaptic installed wine 1.1.20 from .deb Let wine autocreate the default prefix, default config etc as it installed FireFox 3.0.9 Navigated to a site that needed Silverlight 2 Installed silverlight from fresh download as prompted Silverlight player refused to load content Hand copied fonts from /usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts (sic) to drive_c/windows/system32/fonts (sic) Re-navigated to silverlight content page, player loads and starts to buffer the content, then crashes
Attaching stdout output and winedbg backtrace again. If you need specific output channels, let me know
@Austin - What site were you navigating to in order to test Silverlight player/content?

--- Comment #7 from DH dave@higherform.com 2009-05-12 11:54:31 --- Tried it again on a completely fresh install of opengeu, wine 1.1.21, got virtually the same stdout and backtrace.
Is there any other debug channels you all need for this?

--- Comment #8 from DH dave@higherform.com 2009-05-12 11:55:44 --- Or perhaps attach a zip of your ms fonts folder, so I can see if that is in fact the culprit?

Noticed what appears to be a few new lines in the stdout that may or may not be affecting this bug, so I thought I would attach another output
Steps to create this stdout: 1. rm'd all wine and playonlinux prefixes 2. ran "wine firefoxsetup.exe" (sic) and let wine auto create the new prefix 3. hand copied /usr/share/fonts/truetype/mstcorefonts (sic) to wine's windows/Fonts dir 4. chowned and chmod 777 all files in windows/Fonts 5. ran firefox 3.5, pointed it to a page with silverlight content 6. installed silverlight 7. firefox crashed 8. restart firefox from command line 9. c'n'p this stdout

Any chance you could zip up and attach the MS core fonts you are using with a successfully running silverlight? I am still curious if I am running on bad fonts.
Thanks DH

Just use winetricks corefonts.

--- Comment #15 from DH dave@higherform.com 2009-07-16 19:27:34 --- At Austin -
Thanks for the reply, tried winetricks corefonts as you suggested, with no improvement. Manually deleted the .wine prefix, let wine recreate it during FF3.5 install, did winetricks corefonts again prior to navigating to any silverlight content, and it still crashes.
I did get the following new messages at the end of the stdout set on the first crash only:
fixme:advapi:RegisterTraceGuidsW 0x6d84bf36 (nil) 0x6d81bac0 3 0x32f968 (null) (null) 0x6d8b80e0 fixme:urlmon:CreateURLMonikerEx ignoring flag URL_MK_UNIFORM fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (nil) 0 err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {c2e88c2f-6f5b-4aaa-894b-55c847ad3a2d} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {c2e88c2f-6f5b-4aaa-894b-55c847ad3a2d} could be created for context 0x1
So I think its safe to say its not the fonts, unless there is anything else you would like me to test to rule that out. Anything else you all need to help isolate and kill this bug?

What is this bug for? Netflix playback, movie playback, or just any page with silverlight?
This page with a silverlight plugin works fine http://labs.vertigo.com/Rocks/
Netflix results are the same as above comment
This page which streams video crashes (should I file a new bug for this one?) http://iracing.com/live/

That's a good question. This report is all over the place, and the OR hasn't been heard from in about 2 years.
The original report was for a crash, which per comments 18 & 19, no longer happens, so I'm going to mark this one fixed. Other problems should have their own bug reports.
