--- Comment #3 from Steffen tomatenesser@gmx.de 2013-04-21 09:53:04 CDT --- Created attachment 44242 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=44242 log with WINEDEBUG-Channels after slowdown
WINEDEBUG=+seh,+relay,+tid,+ddraw,+dinput,+dsound
Last 10^6 lines of the log. I have more if needed. Wine was canceled with stg+c after the slowdown occurred. The end of the log might be garbage.

--- Comment #4 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2013-04-22 02:49:06 CDT --- I'm not sure if you both have the same problem.
Comment #1 looks like bug 31406 . I think the attachment should be made obsolete.
Comment #3 looks more like a configuration issue
Steffen: What's your graphic card and driver? How much memory does your graphics card have? You may provide a +wgl log or the output of glxinfo.
Lucas: What's your graphics card and driver? You may also provide a glxinfo output or a +wgl log.

--- Comment #10 from Steffen tomatenesser@gmx.de 2013-04-28 13:39:44 CDT --- There is a possibility to workaround the bug in-game:
If there is a save-point after the cut-scene, just restart the game and you are fine. If there is no save-point after the cut-scene, you can choose the lowest resolution before the cut-scene till you get to the next save-point.
The lowest resolution seems suspicious. Maybe my graphics card is too old AND there is some bad cleanup of the graphics card memory after the cutscenes. (if only the card would be too old, I do not think reloading the game at the next savepoint would help.) Maybe somebody with a newer graphics card could try this bug? Sadly I do not have a windows system for better comparison, but due to this link http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=2562&canMyGpuRunIt=Devil... the game should work.

--- Comment #11 from Steffen tomatenesser@gmx.de 2013-05-03 13:04:27 CDT --- Hi,
I ended up buying a new graphic card (gtx 670, 2gb memory) and the problem is pretty much gone.
Regards

--- Comment #12 from Lucas Toews krywk@hotmail.com 2013-05-06 22:52:28 CDT --- ...Well I don't really have the money for a new card. In any case, the problem is not present in Windows.

--- Comment #13 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2013-05-08 01:33:18 CDT --- I'm not sure if the problem Steffen was seeing is really a problem with the graphics card. It may have helped to set the VideoMemorySize (see http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys ) with the old card.
Locas, how much system memory (not graphics card memory this time) do you have? The game needs 2GB at minimum. By any chance, does it hit the swap space on your machine?

--- Comment #14 from Karol Herbst wine@karolherbst.de --- bug doesn't really occur anymore. There is for me a really short slowdown after cutscenes, but the game is still playable. I had only once a scene where this bug was triggered.
What I noticed then was a CPU usage of 100% and no gpu usage at all (nvidia-settings says 0%)
sys specs: Intel i7-4700MQ 16GB RAM nvidia GTX 770M
(In reply to Steffen from comment #10)
For me going into main menu helped already a little bit (more fps), after a second time in main manu the game became playable again.
(In reply to Rico from comment #13)
I don't think it is neither, because it triggered for me, too. Only once, but it triggered and I had a lot of free RAM.
I think there is some strange loop inside the game code or a library, everything else would be weird.
Is there anything I can help with?

--- Comment #15 from Felix Yan felixonmars@archlinux.org --- The game became extremely lag in the cutscene before getting Devil Trigger during Mission 9. There are slowdowns in other cutscene too, but didn't affect gameplay so much. fps drops from 25fps to ~0.2fps after that cutscene, and make the game really unplayable.
I have a GTX 650Ti with 1GB of graphics memory, and 16GB of system ram. Nvidia driver is at 358.16, and I have tried older drivers with same result.

Is this still an issue? Wine currently has CSMT patches included, but it needs to be enabled to get it in use which should improve fps.
