Bug ID: 37708 Summary: Only audio from the intro video plays in American Girls Premiere Product: Wine Version: 1.7.32 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: peanuthead_069@yahoo.com Distribution: ---
Title says all. It used to work with versions circa 1.3x, but for some reason it is broken in 1.7 and up.
I couldn't get any clues as to the cause of the bug, as Wine didn't seem to produce any log entries related to it; the only logs I got from the game are as follows:
p11-kit: couldn't load module: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory fixme:winediag:AUDDRV_GetAudioEndpoint Winepulse is not officially supported by the wine project fixme:winediag:AUDDRV_GetAudioEndpoint For sound related feedback and support, please visit http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1960599 fixme:ole:RemUnknown_QueryInterface No interface for iid {00000019-0000-0000-c000-000000000046}

Is this possibly caused by bug 30557?
Hmm, I'm not sure. What's certain is that the Quicktime 2.0 player appears to be broken, i.e. it either only plays the audio part and the video either is blank or only the first frame plays unless if you move the scroll bar.
I could send you the links to the game for diagnostic purposes, well since it's abandonware but doing so is bordering on the gray side of things so I'm not sure if it's even allowed here in public, or if you don't mind sending them to you via email.

Hello, what are the steps to reproduce?
Just install the game as always, and when prompted, install Quicktime. Once that's done, mount either Disc 1 or 2 and run the game. The intro video should play back, or in this case, a black screen should appear.

--- Comment #5 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Please use the terminal to get into the app folder and then get a log with:
WINEDEBUG=+msvideo,+avifile,+winmm,+mmio wine PROGRAM_NAME >> /tmp/output.txt 2>&1
Where PROGRAM_NAME is the executable, then attach the file /tmp/output.txt here. If the log is too big just compress with bzip2.
