Summary: Lotus Approach wont paint initial screen Product: Wine Version: 1.3.5 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ToddAndMargo@gmail.com
Hi All,
I am using N99.8.0208.0800 which is version 9
Since upgrading from wine 1.3.4 to 1.3.5 Lotus Approach will not open the initial screen. If other screens are opened over it, it will not clear out the artifacts.
Please fix. I will attach a 1.3.5 trace and then revert to 1.3.4.
Many thanks, -T

Interesting. Took two shots using this trace for the bug to appear.

--- Comment #3 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@gmail.com 2010-10-22 18:58:52 CDT --- Oh this is also interesting. While in the process of compiling 1.3.4, meaning my computer is very busy, Approach is working perfectly. Approach also worked 1 out of 2 when I was trying to run the trace. Seems my computer is too fast. :'(

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-10-22 19:04:17 CDT --- Please run a regression test: http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting

--- Comment #5 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@gmail.com 2010-10-22 19:27:42 CDT --- Now working perfectly under 1.3.4
I must apologize, but your regression test is above my skill level.
Did you find anything in the trace I posted?

You already know how to compile wine, regression testing just involves compiling, testing, stating if the bug is present/gone and repeating until it gives the required information. If you can endure the time it takes, it would be the most straight forward way of helping.

--- Comment #7 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@gmail.com 2010-10-30 14:34:02 CDT --- No symptom change under 1.3.6. Approach will not paint one out of every two tries to open it.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. Unfortunately, typing "./wineinstall" takes far less skill than doing a regression test, which is, sadly, still above my skill level.
Did anything show up in the trace?

--- Comment #10 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@gmail.com 2010-11-14 23:51:17 CST --- Guys! I am permanently stuck in 1.3.4 due to this bug. I am not test to see if any other bugs were fixed. Is there any way you guys could fix this in the next release?
Many thanks, -T

Would any additional traces (give me the run string) help?
The results of a regression test would really help, and point to an exact piece of code to look at.

Unfortunately, the regression test is over my head. Can you think of anything easier? Do you have a copy of Approach yourself you can try it with? If you need to buy a cheap copy at Amazon or such (less than $40), I will reimburse you.

Wine crashed on me so I took a risk and compiled up 1.3.25. I can now not reproduce this bug. Please close as fixed. Thank you!
