Bug ID: 41407 Summary: Cut and paste formatted text from wine to native apps broken since 1.9.18 Product: Wine Version: 1.9.18 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: robin.marlow@gmail.com Distribution: ---
using wine 1.9.17 and earlier I could cut and paste freely from word2007 into native apps. After updating to .18 or .19 I can paste native to wine or wine to wine, but not wine to native unless unformatted text (e.g. from wine notepad). This behaviour is consistent across all the office2007 apps & can be fixed by downgrading to 1.9.17. How can I investigate this regression further?

--- Comment #1 from Robin Marlow robin.marlow@gmail.com --- from 1.9.18 onward when pasting to native I get this error on the terminal: err:clipboard:X11DRV_CLIPBOARD_ExportString Failed to render 000d format err:clipboard:X11DRV_CLIPBOARD_ExportString Failed to render 000d format err:clipboard:X11DRV_CLIPBOARD_ExportString Failed to render 0001 format err:clipboard:X11DRV_CLIPBOARD_ExportString Failed to render 000d format err:clipboard:X11DRV_CLIPBOARD_ExportString Failed to render 000d format err:clipboard:X11DRV_CLIPBOARD_ExportString Failed to render 0001 format
but downgrading to 1.9.17 do not.

Best way to do so would be to perform a regression test:

--- Comment #3 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Julliard is currently changing some clipboard code, you should try again in wine-git to ensure the problem is still present, the regression test may result in something that is expected due to the current changes so I'm not sure it is useful right now.
