Hi All,
I am am the OP on 15088. Now that I can actually get into Approach, I have been using it all day. I have five bugs to report. (I am presuming you want them on different reports.) I am running the native msvcrt.
sh -c "cd /home/wine/drive_c/lotus/approach; WINEDEBUG=+loaddll WINEDLLOVERRIDES=msvcrt=n /usr/local/bin/wine ./approach.exe"
Bug number three: when Approach starts, it is suppose to show a "Welcome to Approach" dialog box. In Wine it does not.
To reproduce: 1) open Approach with the native msvcrt
To see what this should look like (or see my attachment), 1) open Approach with the native msvcrt 2) open a database 3) close the database (File, Close). The welcome to Approach dialog will pop up

I understand the dll errors can be ignored: those dll's are just not there. Perhaps the ole errors are significant.

Uh oh. I am in trouble. Since installing dcom98, I can only have one Smart Suite application open at a time. And the one that is open freezes up in about five minutes.
I tried "winetricks --help" and there is no mention of how to remove something. Winetricks web site is no help either. How do I remove this thing?

In Wine Config, I first tried setting ole and ole23 to native. Then just deleted them. No joy. My Smart Suite programs now take forever to start too. And, I always get an error message about a deficiency in Wine

I found this in the trace:

So I set rpcrt4 to "builtin". And suprise, after using ps and kill to remove any running wine programs, I restarted Wine Config and both ole's came back as builtin and rpcrt4 was well. And now everything work as before.

Wine is only supported up to 1.6.1 by the folks at EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux). So I can not test under 1.7
No one ever worked on this bug. It would be nice after two years if it got some priority. Can you look into it?

Love the "Ja" pop up instead of English. The window scrolled and scrolled with "err" and "fixme".
No symptom change on Approach.
$ rpm -qa wine wine-1.6.1-1.el6.i686
I have 1.7.30 compiled up (ALMOST KILLED ME). Hopefully, I will install it tomorrow. Right now I have to use the old version (don't ask).

No symptom change, with or without "winetricks --force vcrun6"
New symptoms:
1) unable to (Approach) "View, Show Smarticons"
2) "File, Close" now crashes Approach
Are you using any other winetricks?

You never stated the correct reason why it was invalid. You also felt the necessity of insulting me for using this forum as a tech support forum.
Resolved in Wine Staging. Add "start" to the wine run line. And this was nothing whatsoever to do with "winetricks" or any of the other weird dll's that were mentioned here.
Wine Staging is also helping me troubleshoot why creating a fresh Approach launcher is all screwed up with incorrect values and paths.
