Gave a try to Office 2007 install with latest git. The setup requests that I input a product key. When I input the 25th character, the setup crashes with the following repetitive output:
fixme:hook:IsWinEventHookInstalled (32778)-stub!
Tried a second time today, it turns out that I had to wait about a minute for the key to be approved. The installation crashes however at about 3/4 done with the output above. Using Gentoo X64 with latest git.

This patch fixes the crash. The problem arises on any app that calls MsiViewExecute with null hRec. On trunk with patch the installation finishes, but is still not too happy about the custom action:
err:msidb:msi_table_load_transform no matching row to transform x100 ... err:msi:ACTION_CallDllFunction Custom action (L"C:\windows\temp\msi9845.tmp":L"OfficeDataLockPermissions") caused a page fault: c0000005 ...
I don't have time to write a test case right now and submit this properly (finals), so if anyone has time that would be great.

--- Comment #24 from Mike Kaplinskiy mike.kaplinskiy@gmail.com 2009-05-08 10:20:12 --- (From update of attachment 20804) Sorry, I didn't quite realize what this patch was doing. It's dead wrong.
I wrote a patch that fixes the crash in the custom action. It can be found at http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2009-May/075385.html . James is reviewing it and will possibly tell me how to go about writing a test case.
The problem lies in the way that insertion of temporary rows is handled. However, I have no idea how to actually write a query that inserts a temporary row (I kept getting errors), so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I might be able to whip up a testcase.

Tested current git + Mike Kaplinskiy's patch Installing Office 2003 and Office 2007 with clean WINEPREFIX.
Same fatal error is still present:
err:msi:ACTION_CallDllFunction Custom action (L"C:\windows\temp\msi16ee.tmp":L"OfficeDataLockPermissions") caused a page fault: c0000005
Works fine for me on git. Not to say there aren't any other err's during installation, but it does not crash. Make sure you're on latest git.
Unless someone objects, this bug should be resolved fixed.

Just tested 2007, installs perfectly out of the box.
Great work Mike!

--- Comment #35 from nh2@deditus.de 2009-06-14 11:42:25 --- This commit works very well for me, too - thank you!
(I additionally had to clear my .wine folder or create a new one with WINEPREFIX to make it work - it seems there were some settings which prevented it to run properly before that.)
