I'm wondering why repeatedly often the 1st attempt failed and 2nd works (sometimes it works even in at the 1st attempt) :

Can you get a backtrace? Ideally you'd install the debug build of gecko, e.g. by running http://kegel.com/wine/dgecko.sh.txt ( which just does the steps on http://wiki.winehq.org/Gecko ) first?
