Sims 3. You appear to be using Mono, does using dotnet20 from winetricks
instead help?

BTW, the launcher isn't needed for that game. You can run the real game
directly.

Yeah, sorry for getting back so late, but I had some reading to do.

I was running Sims3Launcher.exe (from The Sims 3) via command line, with the
command:

wine Sims3Launcher.exe

Then the error occurred. I'm running Ubuntu 10.01 x86_64, wine 1.2.1 from the
wine repository.

I know the launcher is not required to play the game, but there's still an
error, so I thought it I'd report it (and I selected blocker, because the error
blocks me from running the application).

If there's any more you need to know, let me know!

Try with winetricks dotnet20 instead of mono (in a clean WINEPREFIX, to be
sure).
