Summary: odd behaviour with segmentation fault in openwatcoms DirectX sample (samples/directx/cpp/d3d/d3d.cpp) Product: Wine Version: 1.1.36 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: sebi@berlin.com
Created an attachment (id=25707) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=25707) binary and source for the DirectX sample application
Compiling and running the sample application shipped with the Openwatcom Compiler (the compiler itself can be installed through winetricks, though i used mingw to compile the sample) works as expected, but running the sample certainly doesn't.
Binary, Source Code, Terminal Output and a Screenshot are attached (requires the DirectX SDK from Microsoft.com to compile the Source)

--- Comment #5 from Sebastian nil094@yahoo.com 2010-01-25 11:39:12 --- Update: The 3D Animation is rendered properly, but closing the application still triggers an segmentation fault.

--- Comment #7 from Stefan Huehner stefan@huehner.org 2010-04-10 11:31:50 --- I just tried the app with current wine git (post 1.1.42) and closing it using my windowmanagers (fvwm) close icon did show up any segfaults.
Sebastian: Is the issue still reproducible for you?

Closing d3d.exe does not end in a segmentation fault anymore, however the graphic glitch (the animation is way too fast) still exists, but i'm not sure if this can be called a bug (the animation is animated properly on windows XP, though).
