I fixed the pIB = NULL bug some time ago by holding an internal reference on assigned buffers instead of setting them to NULL when releasing them. So Direct3D-Wise the game should work now.
If this is a different bug, either explicitly state so or file a new bug(and put it on the 1.0.0 list)
