Bug ID: 53152 Summary: LarkSuite: Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000008 in 32-bit code Product: Wine Version: 7.10 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: simon@kingstonwireless.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 72585 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=72585 Backtrace
LarkSuite (Lark) is a Slack-like collaboration suite that incorporates email, messaging, calendar, video calls, etc and is quite popular with Chinese companies. The installer can be downloaded from https://www.larksuite.com/download (Windows, macOS, iOS and Android versions are available there).
The Lark installer appears to run fine but when the actual suite tries to load up, a page fault error is given.

--- Comment #1 from Gijs Vermeulen gijsvrm@gmail.com --- Could you attach the full terminal output and not only the backtrace?

--- Comment #4 from Simon Kingston simon@kingstonwireless.com --- Done. The second backtrace and the terminal log file are from a fresh run of the Lark installer, after removing all of it's files from ~/.wine/drive_c/users/simon/AppData/Local/ and ~/.wine/drive_c/users/simon/AppData/Roaming/ Thanks Gijs.

--- Comment #5 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- Confirming
It starts fine for me into the login-screen using Staging (wine-7.10 (Staging))
So would be nice to know which patch from Staging fixes this...
(Note: at first I thought it was related to fonts, but 'winetricks allfonts' didn`t help here)
@Reporter of bug: Can you confirm that the bug is gone using Staging?

--- Comment #6 from Simon Kingston simon@kingstonwireless.com --- You are right, xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com - it does work correctly using the Staging branch of wine (including the email functionality, messaging and calendar; I haven't tried to set up a webcam yet for video calls).
If you want to try to isolate the patch that fixes this (and if that is actually a useful thing to do), I would be happy to verify a few test builds of wine.
I have submitted an application to add LarkSuite to the WineHQ AppDB.
Many thanks for your help, xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com and gijsvrm@gmail.com
All the best,
Simon

--- Comment #7 from Simon Kingston simon@kingstonwireless.com --- The update of winehq-staging from 7.10 to 7.11 stops Lark Suite from working. Reverting back to 7.10 using:
sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-staging=7.10~jammy-1 wine-staging=7.10~jammy-1 wine-staging-amd64=7.10~jammy-1 wine-staging-i386=7.10~jammy-1
restores the LarkSuite functionality.
