Summary: Lego Harry Potter: crazy graphics without d3dx9_36 Product: Wine Version: 1.3.9 Platform: x86 URL: http://news.bigdownload.com/2010/06/25/download-lego-h arry-potter-years-1-4-demo/ OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3dx9 AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: austinenglish@gmail.com CC: wine-bugs@winehq.org
If you set d3dx9_36 to builtin and run the demo, the game starts, but looks like the d3d8/d3d9 visual tests (lots of bars/colors in a rainbow pattern).
Terminal output attached.

However, the game wouldn't run without d3dx9_36 (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24417) and I got the strange colors using native d3dx9_36.
If you go into the graphical options and turn off "Enhanced Graphics" then the issue goes away (however interesting shader effects are disabled).

Likely a different bug then (presumably in d3d9/wined3d).

Still a bug in current wine?
It now crashes on startup, with errors in d3dx/d3dcompiler. At first glance it may be related to HLSL parsing being unimplemented. I'll attach the output.

Still here with all d3dx* dlls set to builtin. Looks to be a bug in our d3d compiler: fixme:d3dcompiler:D3DCompile data 0xb02fab0, data_size 21855, filename (null), defines (nil), include (nil), entrypoint "vertexProgram", target "vs_3_0", sflags 0x200, eflags 0, shader 0xbc1c3c8, error_messages 0xbc1c3b0 stub! fixme:hlsl_parser:hlsl_parse Array. fixme:hlsl_parser:hlsl_parse Array. err:d3dcompiler:compile_shader HLSL shader parsing failed.

Still in wine-1.7.13. That the vertexProgram message is gone, but reported problem remains, when "winetricks alldlls=builtin" is used.
Now there are few occurances of:
fixme:hlsl_parser:hlsl_parse Array. err:d3dcompiler:compile_shader HLSL shader parsing failed.
