Summary: Eudemons Online: In-game graphics rendered outside of virtual desktop Product: Wine Version: 1.1.2 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P1 Component: opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: fatalitycomix@gmail.com
Overview:
After successful login to a game server, while emulating a virtual desktop (the only known way to produce in-game graphics at all), the in-game graphics are displayed 100% to the left of the virtual desktop. The input area remains the same (within the virtual desktop).
See attached screenshot for an example of this glitch.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Set a built-in dll override for "MFC42.DLL" for both "play.exe" and "soul.exe" 1a) Copy a recent Windows XP version of MFC42.DLL to wine's system32 folder. 2) Set graphics overrides for "play.exe" that include emulating a virtual desktop of 1024x768 pixels @ 96 DPI. 3) Run "Play.exe" using wine. 4) Log in to a game server.
Actual Results:
The application ran and its in-game graphics were displayed outside of the virtual desktop.
Expected Results:
The in-game graphics should be displayed within the virtual desktop, matching the input area.

--- Comment #2 from Mehron Kugler fatalitycomix@gmail.com 2008-07-28 01:09:22 --- Created an attachment (id=15130) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15130) Snippet of console errors produced by Wine
Here is the end of a long string of repeating errors, caught in the console, produced by issuing:
wine "Play.exe"
The "GetStrCodePages" errors are reproduced in massive endless quantity during the game login process and end when the client successfully logs into a game server. I could not reproduce the entire list of errors, but searching through what was left of my console buffer I thought this selection was most relevant.

Do you have compiz disabled?
This error is reproducible with both compiz enabled and disabled. Enabling Compiz causes graphics flickering unrelated to the report of this bug.

--- Comment #5 from Alan A. grsfdhj@tiscali.it 2008-08-23 10:15:18 --- Weird... Just installed the game and registered. I don't see a black window with the game graphics "shifted" to the left. Instead, I continue seeing the image of the winged girl shown just after game launch (before login screen) and a "armored hand" mouse pointer which, if I randomly double click somewhere on the image, brings me a character creation screen (paladin, mage or warrior).

Thanks for your time and testing up to this point. Have you gone beyond the character creation screen into the game world itself? Also would you be willing to submit test data for your distribution and Wine version?

Yes, I can get past the character screen, but, after that, I don't see a thing (except 2 numbers and the winged girl "wallpaper"). Test data for this has just been submitted.

Just downloaded and gave it a try (and submitted test results). I cannot even get anymore into the game, so I don't know if this bug is still an issue...

Tried to test it with the latest client available (1576 patched to 1580), but the game doesn't start anymore because of an early SEGFAULT which seems graphics related.
