The game has been installed from a Virtualbox VM then copied to my system inside the wineprefix.
That's not supported. Install it under wine and retest

If you check wine app db, and from what I tried, it's not installable with wine. This is why I used this workaround.
I'm surprised to see no bug about it has been opened...I'll open one.

There is a bug, it's just not linked to the appdb entry (which I have just attempted to rectify): https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34989

--- Comment #8 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- After applying the patch given in bug 34989 and installing Wine from inside its own prefix, this bug still shows up if msvc*140 is overridden (otherwise the program just hangs).

Are you sure this bug is related ? I don't see any error from seh with stack overflow in it. Any idea of a workaround ?

The bug is related in that it effectively blocks this one. Any bug with an application is always potentially a bug due to an incomplete install, and simply copying files from a Windows installation is an incomplete install (e.g. registry entries could be missing). Since a pure Wine install also produces this bug, that proves its validity.

--- Comment #14 from Someone scrimekiler@yahoo.fr --- After I moved to wine-vanilla-3.1-r1 this bug was still there. A big update of the game has been made (server side and client side).
Just after this game update, I no longer see this bug, even after a few weeks using League of Legends.
I think this bug can be closed, even if I didn't try again with other wine versions after the game update.
