--- Comment #2 from Tobias Jakobi liquid.acid@gmx.net 2008-07-17 13:52:59 --- No, it's not even working with wine-0.9.56, seems like I have to test the demo (currently I have the full version installed).

--- Comment #3 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-07-17 14:23:01 --- The patch that broke it is: commit e850b4f13dd5bf91c63df147fb26a83505eea0d1 Author: Vitaliy Margolen wine-patches@kievinfo.com Date: Thu Apr 24 23:32:32 2008 +0300
dinput: Convert keyboard buffer from internal data format to user data format.
However this is not mouse but keyboard. Most likely some keys are detected as being down.
And the bug I'm talking about appears with demo. That the character is uncontrollably spins. And some times fires the gun.
If you talking about something else - they you better be talking. "doesn't work" is as useless of the description as it gets!

--- Comment #4 from Tobias Jakobi liquid.acid@gmx.net 2008-07-17 15:45:11 --- "doesn't work" == "game does no receive any input of the mouse"
This applies to in-game scenes. The settings screen seems to receive events since I can assign MOUSE1 to the fire action.

Could you try this patch to see if it fixes the problem for you?

--- Comment #6 from Tobias Jakobi liquid.acid@gmx.net 2008-07-27 05:36:49 --- This is the full game patched to version 2.1, and the patch doesn't change the behaviour of the game. The mouse is simply dead, and also not grabbed (cursor leaves the vdesktop).
Should I also try it with the demo?

Sounds like totally separate issue. Please do a complete regression testing then.

Sry my mistake. I filed a new but that is more detailed about the version that triggers the bug.
See http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14752
I'm resolving this one to INVALID, since input was never working correctly (even with wine-0.9.56) with v. 2.1.
