Summary: Far Cry segv on launch Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jeisom@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=12854) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12854) backtrace
I'm using amd64 gentoo. post 0.9.61 GIT. It crashes a start with out displaying any windows. If I did something wrong with the backtrace let me know as it is really short. If I delete the system.cfg it will launch FarCryConfigurator.exe after the segv.

Here is an additional backtrace from winedbg. also I tried the kernel from BlueWhite64(2.6.22.1), same userspace and the game runs.

Does a different kernel help?
Yes, the kernel from bluewhite64 from before the game still starts fine.

Might be helpful to file a bug with gentoo then.

Gentoo doesn't support vanilla sources. They only support their patches(gentoo-sources) and currently I'm using vanilla.
