Summary: Xfire ListView shows blocks for text or white spaces Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gammasts@gmail.com CC: gammasts@gmail.com
As seen here: http://xfireplus.com/jing/2008-05-06_0311.png
The friend's list does not show text properly. All names come up as boxes (I am assuming this is due to unicode?). The control type is a SysListView (if that helps).
On other tabs, the entries come up as blank white lines as seen here http://xfireplus.com/jing/2008-05-06_0311_001.png
This has affected all versions of Xfire (current 1.91) and I have seen reports of it happening in every distribution of linux and wine (to date).
Pictures above tested with fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04 x86, Xfire 1.91, and Wine 0.9.61.

--- Comment #5 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2009-03-29 04:19:30 --- Warren Dumortier notes that using winetricks to install comctl32 makes the friends list usable, which I've confirmed myself. The component should probably be changed accordingly.

--- Comment #7 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2009-06-02 15:44:21 --- Problem still persists with today's Git (wine-1.1.22-323-gc18d69e). In order to test, you need to move aside xfire_toucan_*.dll in the Xfire directory, else Xfire crashes due to another bug.

I already have xfire_toucan_<releasenumber>.dll in application directory after installation.
For me it crashes when i'm trying to click on registration window.
What could be a problem?

--- Comment #9 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2009-06-03 07:44:23 --- As I said, you need to rename the toucan DLL, since I believe the crash is occurring in that particular component. I don't know if registration would work with it disabled, but login certainly does.

It doesn't crash without this module, that's true. Could send me a test account login? (directly on mail will be fine)

--- Comment #12 from Warren Dumortier nwarrenfl@gmail.com 2009-10-22 05:40:38 --- This patch fixed it, now (since some versions) names are displayed correctly. However the text is still displayed on a white background, but this is another issue, maybe transparency problem?
However, this issue is fixed since a long time in Wine.

It's more likely a ownerdraw bug but I'm not sure. Names were corrupted because ANSI parent text data was treated as Unicode (or vice versa don't remember).
However, this issue is fixed since a long time in Wine.
Marking fixed then.
