Created an attachment (id=14434) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14434) console output
Speedball 2 demo installs, but fails to start.
Added native d3dx9_3* dlls in order to not fall over on unimplemented functions.
With native d3dx9_3* dlls installed, it changes resolution, blacks screen, plays a second of sound or so, then exits with an unhandled exception, but no backtrace.

--- Comment #1 from knan-wine@anduin.net 2008-09-13 11:39:30 --- Still not working in 1.1.4+git.
d3dx9_32.dll is the one missing, to be exact.
And I really can't capture a good backtrace here. Process is already gone when winedbg kicks in.

--- Comment #2 from knan-wine@anduin.net 2008-10-15 14:08:30 --- Hah. Gotcha.
This turns out to be a duplicate of bug 8051 - specifically, the software mode shader constants issue. At least, applying that part of the hack allows the game to start.
Lots of missing models, GL_INVALID_OPERATION and all that. But it runs.
Now, why I get no debug backtrace - that's maybe worthy of investigation as a separate bug?
Ah well. Marking this as duplicate for now.
