Hi, I have tried to install origin with wine 3.3 on a clean wine Prefix on my computer but with the full version I get an error 3:0 I think it's a permission issue because when you want to look on the Origin folder it have a locker on it.

known issue and definitely a dupe (along with others) of many Origin installer bugs in Wine Bugzilla.

Many Origin tickets are just messed up with multiple problems so people don't care anymore to clean/separate them.

I analysed this problem once (remembered only improper translation of DACL to file permissions) but lost my notes ... was to lazy to redo it.

The following steps helped me work around the problem: - Modify the script to make it point to the destination directory - Create the destination directory - Run the script, and keep it running untill the installation is done - Install Origin

The script also has to run while origin updates itself. Curious that an application that is only supposed to run on Windows knows how to mess up unix permissions

well the workaround has been floating around since some time. I think the shell version is more simple/popular, no need for Perl ;-) It needs 'inotify-tools' package installed with the distro though.

To be run from 'Program Files' folder (or Wow64 equivalent):

well, that was suspected already two years ago, see my comment #4 ;-)

Since you closed bug 38970 for good you should ask Wine-Staging maintainers to fix up the issue id references to this one (bug 44691).
