Auto-completion feature works fine but when I use it, the window appears with
the title bar which is not the case under windows. This title bar hide the text
behind which prevents me to use this feature. (see attachment)
This problem occurs with all wine versions I have tested: 0.9.5x up to 0.9.60. 
kubuntu 7.10

Yes, this is still an issue with wine 1.1.6 or 1.1.7.

This problem of blocking the text being typed with the prediction's box is
still present in 1.3.20.
The feature can be found in its on-line documentation at
http://npp-community.tuxfamily.org/documentation/notepad-user-manual/editing....

In the source the file is:
npp.5.9.src/PowerEditor/src/ScitillaComponent/AutoCompletion.{cpp,h}.

The source for auto-complete based from the Scintilla function.

This may help to determine if the location problem is provided incorrectly to
Notepad++ by Wine.

This demonstrates Notepad++ (6.1.1) running on wine 1.5.1 Wow on Fedora 16
without virtual desktop emulation, using auto-complete feature (Ctrl-space).

Still present in Notepad++ 6.1.1 using Fedora 16 x86_64 with wine 1.5.1.

It is only present without desktop graphic virtual emulation. It applies to
both Ctrl-spacebar & Ctrl-enter.

Since there is an available download, you could (should) test it yourself,
especially since it doesn't involve a huge download or a complicated procedure.

Also, you shouldn't have changed the severity to trivial. This is a UI display
error, so a regular (normal) bug. Trivial bugs are ones that are trivially
fixed, like a typo in a string for instance.

I can still reproduce this bug on Fedora 23 with 1.9.5 using Notepad++ 6.9. If
you are sure that you are not experiencing this bug, then please include the
steps that you take and the Linux version and distribution as well as Wine.

Screenshot: works for me

Works for me (Wine 1.9.6, Fluxbox, Arch Linux) with clean prefix and no desktop
emulation. Please double check your configuration (create a clean prefix,
reinstall Notepad++).

I renamed ~.wine, re-installed Notepad++ 6.9. I still produce the titlebar with
F23 x86_64 with Wine 1.9.5. I will re-test with 1.9.6. later. Although, I can't
get the titlebar captured in a screenshot with GTK even though it is there.

I renamed ~.wine, re-installed Notepad++ 6.9. I still produce the titlebar with
Debian x86_64 with Wine 1.6.2. I still could not take a screenshot of the
titlebar with GTK, but I could with GIMP. I might try that when F23 is upgraded
to 1.9.6.

Notepad++ Autocomplete without Titlebar on OS X with 1.9.5 Staging

I did a fresh installation of Wine Staging 1.9.5 on Mac OS X (El Capitan) and
did not have a titlebar visible for autocompletion.

Most likely, yes. Although setting the windows version to XP doesn't change
anything here, the staging patches for Bug 42117 solve this issue, too.
