Summary: crashes of NICE Mirra series software Product: Wine Version: 0.9.54. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: stefano.cailotto@univr.it
Hi all, I'trying to have a software from NICE working under wine. The program is used to manage a legal voice recorder through the network, unfortunately is not available on the network for testing. I've installed it on a Debian Etch, with the latest version of wine from http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/. the program is run setting LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=true, and creating /dev/snd/seq to avoid complaints about missing ALSA device. The program starts correctly, and as far as I can see, it seems to crash once it's connected to the device. I've found a thread (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5407) talknig about kernel memory splitting, but wasn't helpful. Please find attached wine log.
Any idea? thanks, regards
Stefano

Attached backtraces are almost useless without that information. Also please read FAQ on how to properly run windows programs on Wine. You command line is invalid. It might be the cause of your problem.

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-02-06 13:45:28 --- Can you see if a native comctl32 makes the problem go away?

I tried, but without success. The error remains exactly the same. To reply also Vitaliy Margolen post, I tried to run the executable in all the ways mentioned on FAQs, but I've always obtained the same error...

Have you removed/renamed corresponding manifest file from c:\windows\winsxs? BTW Austin, please always specify this, as people won't ever get to this themselves.

Then please in the future always do it the right way when you submit bug reports.

Sorry to bother you again...what do you mean with the sentence above? what should I do with that file, and what is it implied in? Thanks again, Stefano

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-06-03 15:12:38 --- Is this still an issue in 1.0-rc3? Please move or delete ~/.wine and test in a fresh wineprefix.
