yes, I was correct - this problem can be fixed simply by upgrading to a newer
version of bugzilla - see bug 10868 (closed as a duplicate of this bug).
Please upgrade.
Yes, I would love to volunteer to help you and do it myself if I had the time
but I have negligible free time now and for the foreseeable future.
