Excel crashes after displaying the splash screen.

I've seen bug #28642, but I thought this was fixed.

Your wine version is way too old.

You need to upgrae 1.8 or 1.9 series and retry. It's no use to use outdated
software.

Try setting riched20 to native,builtin with winecfg. That's the only valid
configuration for Office 2007/2010/2013. Wine 1.6.2 should work with 2007 I
think.
