An Nvidia 7600 GT 256MB VRAM with: OpenGL version string: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 169.09
Most games run fine with this card so it don't seems a drivers problem, but who knows...

--- Comment #3 from tehblunderbuss@gmail.com 2008-07-14 03:05:42 --- As stated, the Canyon levels in "XIII" http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7119 are black, outputting multiple lines of: fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement table fog for foggy vertex shader
I think the bug in this app is related, since it's the only one I found with this error. Yeah yeah it's a fixme, but hey the level is unplayable :)

--- Comment #4 from John Morris mailjohnmorris@gmail.com 2008-09-20 17:11:17 --- I'm experiencing the same thing on wine-1.1.5. This is the first wine version that didn't just immediately crash on me with this game, so progress.
I noticed that when you start a new game, and select characters, for a brief instance when the character model is first displayed it is visible, but it immediately disappears if that is of any help.

Charater's models and some locations are invisible, and this makes this game unplayable.
Wine drops tons of lines like the following:
fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement table fog for foggy vertex shader fixme:d3d:state_pscale >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glPointSize(...); @ state.c / 1495 fixme:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_GetTexture Call to get texture (1) failed ((nil))
Exact same thing here. I also have an nvidia card: NV43 [GeForce 6600]
Running wine-1.1.20-71-g2e11733

the d3d:state_pscale error is not related to the bug. The repeated error message is caused by a call to GL function glPointSize with argument 0.0, which is invalid (GL_INVALID_VALUE).
http://www.opengl.org/documentation/specs/man_pages/hardcopy/GL/html/gl/poin...
I changed scale.c (wined3d) to check before calling glPointSize, normalizing values <= 0.0 to 1.0.
This removes the error message, but has no effect on the visibility of the models.
When you start a new game, and browse the available characters, you can make the models briefly appear by quickly changing character. This makes me think that maybe the background is actually drawn on top of the models.
To summarize, I see no causality between the state_pscale msg and the invisibility of the models.
NB: I am not a wine developer, only a (frustrated) wine user.

--- Comment #10 from John Morris mailjohnmorris@gmail.com 2009-05-17 16:55:31 --- I can confirm the problem still exists in 1.1.21. I see the same thing as Claudio - they appear briefly when you browse the available models, but quickly disappear behind the background.

--- Comment #11 from yoalieh@gmail.com 2009-06-02 08:41:27 --- Hi, I've got the same problem.
My specs: Kubuntu 9.04 + wine 1.1.22. Video Card Nvidia 9400GT 1Gb ~700 system RAM AthlonFX2
I had to create a wine virtual desktop or the game doesn't start. Videos look ok, but when starting the game, in the selection screen, models are invisible. When selecting the character, the model appears for half a second and dissappears again. When starting the game, the world looks ok, but models stay invisible.
In konsole, there's a lot of lines like Athrun describes, but I found also the following ones happening less:
fixme:d3d:apply_draw_buffer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glDrawBuffer() @ context.c / 1550 fixme:d3d:state_pscale >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glPointSize(...); @ state.c / 1455 fixme:d3d_surface:read_from_framebuffer_texture >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glReadBuffer @ surface.c / 1026
could it be related?
The same happens with pbuffer and backbuffer. In fbo the world looks wrong.
Any way I can help to help in fixing this bug? I know a bit of programming and can compile and test wine, but I don't have plenty of time so it can take a bit of time in my answers.
Thanks.

--- Comment #12 from xyem@electricjungle.org 2009-07-04 13:40:43 --- Just tested this in Wine 1.1.25 with my nVidia 6600GT and I get the same behaviour in regards to the models. They appear briefly when cycling through them and are not present in the world.
Also, my screen went ( mostly ) pink when I was given the first chat options and my sound went crazy. Sounded like agitated monkeys in a room full of static, literally.

--- Comment #13 from knan-wine@anduin.net 2009-07-08 17:27:48 --- Created an attachment (id=22286) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=22286) 1.1.25 plain console output (gzipped)
Run the game, click new game, click arrow right to switch characters three times, go back to menu and exit.
Almost only glPointSize fixmes, but there's also a "Unsupp depthstencil blit" fixme in there that looks suspicious.
