Bug ID: 35508 Summary: File picker in LMMS 0.9.90 Win32 doesn't show files Product: Wine Version: 1.7.11 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: dgerard@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
LMMS 0.9.90 works much better in Wine than previous versions of LMMS.
The only glitch I noticed was that the file picker - which I think is the Qt file picker - doesn't show files that it should.
To reproduce:
1. File->Open 2. Go to Z: drive, tunnel down through the file tree to where your .mmpz (LMMS) files are. 3. You won't see any of them.
Expected: You should see all your .mmpz files.
Workaround: If you know the file name, you can type it into the box. *Now* it shows up in the file picker.
LMMS is open source, so you can look at precisely what it's doing: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms

--- Comment #1 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- You need to enable hidden files in winecfg: $ winecfg drives, enable 'show dot files'.

--- Comment #2 from David Gerard dgerard@gmail.com --- That worked ... but that's a weird thing to require for files that aren't actually dot files. They have names like e.g. "perpetual.mmpz" - when I said ".mmpz files" above, I meant that was the file extension.
Are you really saying that not showing normal (not dot) files until you click "show dot files" is not any sort of bug?

My mistake. I misunderstood you. It should not be required.
@Bruno, I tried your patch from bug 28692, but it didn't help.

--- Comment #6 from David Gerard dgerard@gmail.com --- I note sidebar stuff (instruments, samples, etc.) doesn't work either. I suspect that's very closely related - a file picker or something similar too.

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.37 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

--- Comment #8 from David Gerard dgerard@gmail.com --- The LMMS 0.990 binary has disappeared from SourceForge. But I tried under 1.7.34 (Ubuntu PPA version) with 0.4.15 and 1.0.0, and the bug doesn't show up in either of those, so it looks like some time in the past year the problem was fixed! Closing.
