To see this, try Plot[Sin[x],{x,-10,10}] in Windows and in Wine. Output in Windows is antialiased while in wine it's jagged.

No, not fonts. Fonts are antialiased OK. I mean 2D graphics - points, curves, etc. See the attachment

Does mathematica use gdiplus.dll? If so can you try to set it to native (so you need a native dll)? Likely it will be rendered correctly then. If that's the case it is a gdiplus bug.
Yes, when i set gdiplus as 'native, builtin', Mathematica loads its own version of the dll, Mathematica\7.0\SystemFiles\FrontEnd\Binaries\Windows\gdiplus.dll, and rendering becomes correct.
