The game (https://store.steampowered.com/app/690830/Foundation/) is crashing during startup. Although it works fine if I extract the file from VC_redist (https://aka.ms/vs/15/release/vc_redist.x64.exe) and place it into Windows/system32 instead of the bundled one.

The importent part might be that the game fails to parse json files. This is fixed by replacing uscrtbase.dll with the one from vcrun_redist.

They will work around this issue in an upcoming game update, but it would still be nice to fix builtin ucrtbase. Maybe the info from the game dev's comment could be useful.

What happened is that proton / wine just ignored our request to open the files as utf8 and was feeding us with row data. It was fixed by adding utf8 DOM in all our utf8 files.
