Summary: Supreme Commander is black It doesn't render anything. Product: Wine Version: 0.9.56. Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jgardou@yahoo.fr CC: thunderbird2k@gmx.net
Created an attachment (id=11174) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11174) +d3d_surface debug output
Since wine 0.9.56, supreme commander is black. It doesn't render anything, only cursor and and sound show that the game is running.
This is a regression caused by the patch
"wined3d: Add SURFACE_BUSY support to *_Blt." by Roderick Colenbrander (added to the CC list) Further tests show that checking only the destination surface in IWineD3DSurfaceImpl_Blt fixes it.
Attached the +d3d_surface log. (made with today's git)
I'm using native d3dx9_36.dll

This shows what happens on my computer. It is the same bug (i.e. nothing rendered except cursor) but this does not change in versions of wine pre-0.9.56 as the reporter's experience is; i.e. it is not a regression for me.

--- Comment #7 from Jérôme Gardou jgardou@yahoo.fr 2008-03-23 13:41:31 --- Curiously, previous version than 3220 works well, except from the crashing bug, and movies do skip frames.
Unfortunately, with those versions, bugs occur often.

--- Comment #8 from haarp liquitsnake@gmx.net 2008-03-24 10:52:53 --- Do you have Bloom Renderer enabled? If so, try disablign it by setting it to 0 in windows/profiles/user/Local Settings/Application Data/Gas Powered Games/SupremeCommander/Game.prefs
If it works then, my bug 12168 is a dup of this.

No, Bloom Render is not enabled and the bug persists.

--- Comment #10 from Jérôme Gardou jgardou@yahoo.fr 2008-04-07 17:10:36 --- This seems to be fixed with wine 0.9.59. Could someone confirm this?
Since .NET 2.0 work, I reinstalled Supreme Commander from scratch, and updated it (installing dotnet20 ad vcrun2005 with winetricks) to latest version.

Not fixed on mine. Looks exactly the same as my attached entirely black screen and cursor from wine 0.9.57.
Ubuntu 8.04 / Wine 0.9.59 + winetricks dotnet20 + winetricks vcrun2005 / Supreme Commander patch 3280 (latest)

--- Comment #12 from Jérôme Gardou jgardou@yahoo.fr 2008-04-08 14:13:46 --- OK... Did you install from scratch, update and launch it without any tweaks ? That is what I did, and it launches flawlessly (although it is still quite unstable, and movies are not synced with sound, but those are other bugs).

Yes, from scratch and updated. Same problem. Which log files should I attach, and how do I get them?
