Bug #: 31714 Summary: AutoCAD 2005 pan became unacceptably slow in 1.5.13 Product: Wine Version: 1.5.13 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: gdi32 AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: max@veneto.com Classification: Unclassified
After updating to 1.5.13 the pan command became very slow and jerky. To reproduce, simply open a drawing and try to pan with middle mouse button. Up to wine 1.5.12 it was quite smooth and fast, now it's jerky and very slow.

Please run a regression test: http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting
Sorry... I'm on ubuntu 64 bit and still can't compile wine correctly because of ubuntu 32 bit libs problems. I hope somebody else will do the regression testing... anyways, it's from 1.5.12 to 1.5.13 for sure.
Ciao

--- Comment #4 from NSLW lukasz.wojnilowicz@gmail.com 2012-10-02 12:49:04 CDT --- Massimo please see if it is the dupe of bug #31710
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31714
--- Comment #5 from max@veneto.com 2012-10-02 12:57:38 CDT --- Well, it comes of course from same changes in GDI rendering, but I wouldn't call it a duplicate. Mine is just an unacceptable slowdown due of changes in GDI rendering path, the other is a wrong display issue.
BTW, I've got no time to do a regression test (I'm on ubuntu 64, no time to build a chroot environment nor to use an usb stick, sorry....) but I guess it would be not so useful, because IMHO the bunch of changes in GDI between 1.5.12 and 1.5.13 are probably too cross-dependents to do it.
Anyways, the bug arose exactly from 1.5.12 to 1.5.13, and IMHO is because of this one :
The Wine development release 1.5.13 is now available.
What's new in this release (see below for details): - Client-side window rendering using the DIB engine. .......
--- Comment #6 from NSLW lukasz.wojnilowicz@gmail.com 2012-10-02 13:05:19 CDT --- If ClientSideGraphics=N helps then I believe nothing more can be done to track down the commit that has caused that bug.

--- Comment #7 from Alexandre Julliard julliard@winehq.org 2012-10-02 13:37:35 CDT --- It would be interesting to do some profiling to find out if there's a specific DIB call that slows is down, or if it's just the extra repainting work.

--- Comment #8 from max@veneto.com 2012-10-06 04:39:29 CDT --- ClientSideGraphics=N in X11 Driver section does help, behaviour is good as before.
Sorry, but due to ubuntu 64 bit build problems, I've no time to do some profiling on it by now. If somebody knows a way to setup wine build environment on ubuntu 12.04 64 bit, I'd be happy to try it... but no chroots nor usb keys, it'll take too much time to have it working.
