Bug ID: 42943 Summary: Neverwinter Online textures for hair, equipment, and mounts not being rendered.
Created attachment 58098 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=58098 Character hair and armor not rendered.
See attached screen capture. This issue has existed since neverwinter online switched to DX11 only in March, however, it was previously able to be worked around by using lowered graphics settings. In the latest module (released May 2, 2017), I have not found any combination of settings to get the textures to render properly.
To workaround the crash on startup in latest module release, patch from #42923 was applied to wine-staging-2.7.

You should mark as depends on bug 42923. Maybe the others, not sure since multiple bugs are impacted by those. I don't know if fixing all those would fix also this, but at least you can track some progress.

--- Comment #4 from Michael Müller michael@fds-team.de --- The bug reporter did not clearly state that this is a Wine Staging regression. It is therefore reasonable to assume that the issue also affects the development version, moving the bug into the Wine product.

--- Comment #5 from Simon Tomoko simon.tomoko@doctor.com --- I am a doctor, not a programmer, so forgive me if I am not within protocols here on how to post information about this bug. I can log into this app without issue and the game runs without crashing. I am currently using WINE 2.18 and I am able to test this on Kubuntu 32 and 64 bit systems as well.
What I have noticed and is not mentioned here, models appear normal for less than a second while loading when traveling from zone to zone. Then after fully loaded the eyes, feet, and some layered clothing turns transparent.
I posted some screenshots (https://postimg.org/gallery/l07nxuus/) to a 3D model and gaming forum and one person suggested; the "normals" of the 3D mesh appear to be inverted and is displaying the wrong side of the textures.
I have no clue if anything I have said, helps you in anyway. I can and will provide any other information you request.

Please test if the patch attached to bug 43131 helps.
The patch seems to fix a similar issue in Start Trek Online.

I don't know how to attach a patch. I am afraid my knowledge of programs are very limited to downloading and installing the binaries, however I can tell you this is NOT heading in the right direction. I tried version 2.22 and objects that were suppose to be invisible such as "bounding boxes" were now visible and other objects such as mounts still not seen at all. Under 2.22 was completely impossible to play or test. I reverted back to 2.18 last week and decided to wait.
Again I see there is a new version of WINE available for testing and I will download and let you know what has changed. I no longer play these games and have moved on to other entertainment but I do want to help others in both the WINE gaming and Linux communities. However I see this has closed so I will attempt to follow the bug report links and etiquette.
Thank you for your hard work.
