I am now using wine 1.1.3
wine start approach.exe > wine.err 2>&1
It won't even open when using the "start" parameter. I have included wine.err for you to evaluate

Sorry. Should have told you to ignore those messages. Approach will integrate with Lotus Notes, if you have it installed. If not, you get those messages and Approach just keeps going.

--- Comment #8 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@verizon.net 2008-11-06 12:25:41 --- A customer gave me an unused copy of Smart Suite (Word Pro, Approach, 123). If a developer decided he wants to take bugs 15575, 15088, 15172, I will send him my extra copy. Please eMail me with the developers name and physical shipping address for me to mail it to. (But, first the developer has to promise me he will work on these three bugs. These disks are rather rare.)
Many thanks, -T

--- Comment #10 from Rein Klazes wijn@online.nl 2009-04-20 05:44:22 --- I just installed Approach from the lotus smartsuit millenium edition CD.
It starts-up fine, I click on file->open, a decent (modern look) file menu opens. I have no database so that is where it end.
It may well be that the fixes for Wordpro are also helping Approach.
I wait until you can give 1.1.20 a good test to see if there is actually a problem to work out.

--- Comment #11 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@verizon.net 2009-04-20 20:16:06 --- Hi All,
Got a chance to test Approach with Rein's fixes for Word Pro over on bug 15575. I do believe that Rein's magic has fixed this one too. I was able to open both a simple database and a massive distributed database. My (XFce launcher) run string:
sh -c "cd /home/wine/drive_c/lotus/approach; WINEDEBUG=+loaddll WINEDLLOVERRIDES=msvcrt=n /usr/local/bin/wine ./approach.exe"
Now that I am actually able to open Approach, new Wine/Approach bugs are now making their rude appearances. My favorite is the open dialog thinking Samba read only databases (0544 - Samba maps Linux permission bits) are written in an unsupported language. Pretty funny me thinks (but then again, I am easily amused).
Question: Do I wait for 1.1.20 on these new bugs or do I start filing them now with Rein's work around?
Many thanks, -T

File them now. Mention that you must run with native msvcrt for other, unrelated bugs.
