Summary: Wine can't run any D3D application on x86_64 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.20 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P1 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: tsalacinski@gmail.com
Hello,
Recently I've installed new Fedora 11 64-bit. On this system everything in 3D works fine (starting from glxgears ending on Sauerbraten). WINE D3D apps don't work at all, show this error message:
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 128 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext) Value in failed request: 0x21 Serial number of failed request: 467 Current serial number in output stream: 467
2D apps work properly (eg. winecfg). WINE was compiled without gphoto2 support, every other dependency was satisfied. WINE was compiled as a 32-bit app in 64-bit system.
I am putting this as Major, because F11 ships with the new X-Server and I believe this is the problem here - it affects wide range of applications if user is using most recent xserver. No problems with 3d acceleration though (sauerbraten works). glxinfo shows direct rendering: yes.

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-05-04 16:32:12 --- What video card and driver version? Reinstall video drivers and try again.
Not major, most likely invalid (bad drivers).

--- Comment #2 from Tomasz Sałaciński tsalacinski@gmail.com 2009-05-04 17:25:26 --- I am using GeForce 8600GT (I was using it for most of the time playing games with WINE). My driver version:
NVIDIA GLX Module 180.51
Latest stable version, tried it previously and games (for example FEAR) worked fine. Native Linux games are working fine with this driver, so I doubt that drivers are installed incorrectly, but I can try reinstalling them. I think that this might be related to the new xserver, because everything from compiz (which is disabled while I try to run WINE app), through glxgears to every game I've tried is working fine. WINE is the only 3D app that's not working.
I'll update thig bug tomorrow after reinstalling the drivers, as you wish.

--- Comment #3 from Dmitry Timoshkov dmitry@codeweavers.com 2009-05-05 00:50:21 --- Probably you haven't installed 32-bit OpenGL libraries. Remove/reinstall them again. OpenGL in Wine works fine for many users on x86_64.
