Summary: War of the Ring terrain appear and disappear constantly Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: samurai_no_densetsu@yahoo.es
This game runs fine except by this issue, terrain texture are constantly changing, appearing and disappearing, and console drops lots this:
fixme:d3d_surface:read_from_framebuffer_texture >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glCopyTexSubImage2D @ surface.c / 937
I have tested it with a Geforce 7600GT on Wine 1.0.0 and 169.09 drivers, fiddling game graphical options didn't solved that.

--- Comment #1 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-06-25 11:41:47 --- Does this demo have the same problem? http://www.gamershell.com/download_3478.shtml

--- Comment #2 from Athrun samurai_no_densetsu@yahoo.es 2008-06-25 12:43:14 --- I have just tested, that demo works fine on a clean .wine directory, so I tested the previous install on a clean .wine too and worked fine. So looking for an answer I have found that the disappearing terrain behavior only happen when the registry key OffscreenRenderingMode is set to fbo or pbuffer. If the OffscreenRenderingMode is set to the default key backbuffer the game works fine.
So its only an issue when using fbo or pbuffer.

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-04-17 12:16:18 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.19 or newer) wine?

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.19 or newer) wine?
No, I no longer can replicate that issue with wine 1.1.20 even setting OffscreenRenderingMode registry key to fbo or pbuffer.
