--- Comment #1 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- Hi,
Could you provide bit more info. I downloaded it from Adobe, and it`s called Creative_Cloud_Set-Up.exe but it doesn`t even pop up anything/any window.
It just hangs. Or did you first do install in Windows and copy it over?

--- Comment #2 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- Hi, you are on the right track. That is what I try to install. In my case it displays the message, then closes, instead of hanging. Either way, I would like to install it then to login to my Adobe account and install Photoshop. Currently, Photoshop can be installed on Windows 10 only.
I have downloaded it from my Adobe account on 2021-04-14, but it has another sha1 sum:

From a quick look just before the Messagebox appears it queries Internet
Explorer registry keys but canoot find them, see below
That`s very strange, becuase they do exist (like when you start in fresh prefix) Do you try to install this on a fresh prefix, or an existing one?

--- Comment #6 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- Sorry, that text got totally messed up.
Summarize: what does the registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
look like on your machine? It cannot somehow find anything under that key at your setup
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50999
--- Comment #7 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- I usually prepare the prefix as follows:
As Windows 10:
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/Photography winetricks allfonts pptfonts fontsmooth=rgb
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/Photography winetricks gdiplus dxvk
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/Photography winetricks atmlib msxml3 msxml6
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/Photography winetricks vcrun2019
# not needed anymore: vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2010 dotnet472
#optional? WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/wineprefixes/Photography winetricks d3dx9

I usually prepare the prefix as follows:
As Windows 10:
Hmm, really strange that the registry keys are gone somehow then. I don`t get it really
Anyway, I can reproduce the error you get by deleting the values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer (like Version etc.)
Then I get messagebox too that operating system is not supprted.
I think something is not 100% right with your prefix setup, but anyway, the installer doesn`t start here as well
As a guess I`d say it`s (again) due to mshtml and friends insufficiencies; I believe all Adobe installers run into this problem. For now I didn`t find a workaround to get this up :(
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50999
--- Comment #9 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- AFAIK, the setup needs IE11 lately, as they have redirected me once on a page saying that. There is a Photoshop setup too, that stops with the same message.
What is missing?

What is missing?
Like I said: probably the registry values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer and/or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
See attached screenshot
But I don`t get why they are missing.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50999
--- Comment #11 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- They are the same on my system.

Did you check both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
?

Ok, almost out of ideas ;)
I deleted my registry values and tried import yours. They appear fine under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer stays empty.
It`s getting really confusing now, but to summarize: your debuglog showed clearly that Creative couldn`t find those values in the registry
And i noticed from 1st comment that you run with wine-staging 6.4. So my last guess is: try upgrade to version 6.6. There have been quite some issues last versions .
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50999
--- Comment #15 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- I run Sabayon, basically a Gentoo. For some reason, I can't build 6.6. I try to find the reason with them, if I can. Gentoo builds Wine with gcc instead of mingw64, if that makes sense for my problem.

--- Comment #16 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- Created attachment 69851 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=69851 Missing keys from "64 bit registry"?
On other hand, it seems 32 vs 64 keys miss some entries.

Well, i`d say first try get wine-6.6 up and running. But i fear then you get the same as me: messagebox is gone, but the installer doesn`t run anyway.
I`'ll try get photoshop trial as i have adobe-account;see how that behaves. To be continued...

--- Comment #19 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- Created attachment 69854 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=69854 Patches
With help from the great Sabayon team, I have built Wine Staging 6.6, including four supplemental patches provided here (also attached):
https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/c2c7946680b61bfccd4c4f5788... https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/9d1ae850dfd73c60fbe2904c44... https://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2020-March/163102.html https://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2020-March/163103.html.
strchrW() was replaced with wcschr() to be possible to compile.

--- Comment #20 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- Testing again, it starts and seems to wait for something in a loop, as it does not advance, nor crashes.

--- Comment #22 from msdobrescu@gmail.com --- Years after the original post, the problem is still present. Now that IE is gone, Adobe seems to accept any of Firefox, Chrome, Edge to interact with in order to login. How can some know what is missing, what is needed?
