Bug #: 33975 Summary: The Last Remnant stutters and stops rendering during battles Product: Wine Version: 1.6-rc4 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: michael.blumenkrantz@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
During battle sequences, there is a graphical effect which causes a fullscreen blur for the player to activate a quick-time event and press a button. During these effects, the game's video freezes for some time before resuming; the audio continues playing as normal for the duration.
It's likely that this occurs both in the demo and the full game.
I am willing and able to provide any debug output on demand.

--- Comment #1 from Frédéric Delanoy frederic.delanoy@gmail.com --- Is this still an issue in latest wine (1.7.17 or later)?
Is it the demo from http://www.gamershell.com/download_40086.shtml?

--- Comment #2 from Mike Blumenkrantz michael.blumenkrantz@gmail.com --- It seems to be less severe than I remember but still present.
Possibly related to tickets like http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34011
I would guess that the demo, if it has any battle sequences, should exhibit the issue.

--- Comment #3 from Mike Blumenkrantz michael.blumenkrantz@gmail.com --- Okay, so there's some good news: for nvidia binary users, this bug can be resolved completely by exporting __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE=1, and then allowing all the effects to play once.
As a result, I'm closing this since it seems obvious that the issue is related to shader compilation.

--- Comment #4 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- The FIXED state is used when wine is fixed, workarounds do not count. If the problem is in the nvidia driver the bug can be resolved UPSTREAM.
