Bug ID: 38804 Summary: Big problems with the current WISO-Sparbuch (2015 version): garbage on the wiso sparbuch desktop Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: joachim.backes@rhrk.uni-kl.de Distribution: ---
I'm using the german tax program "Steuer-Sparbuch 2015" under Fedora22/wine.
Since some Fedora updates I have the problem that the Wiso Sparbuch main Desktop shows a lot of text as garbage (some text looks as wiso program code in some language unknown to me, or other lext looks like mutilated html code or similar).
This effect appears both with the vanilla wine version wine-1.7.45 and the fedora version wine-1.7.45-1.fc22.x86_64.
I will hand in later a screen photo.
The garbage changes each time a start wiso sparbuch.

I get this if starting a new annual tax declaration after pressing "Steuerbescheid prüfen"

--- Comment #3 from JB joachim.backes@rhrk.uni-kl.de --- No such garbage if using a self compiled wine-1.6.2 version

No such garbage if using a self compiled wine-1.6.2 version
Please run a regression test: http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38804
--- Comment #5 from JB joachim.backes@rhrk.uni-kl.de --- Result of rebuilding wine versions from winehq.org:
1. WISO-Sparbuch runs properly with wine-1.7.16. 2. wine-1.7.17 is the first version showing the WISO-Sparbuch garbage behaviour.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38804
--- Comment #6 from JB joachim.backes@rhrk.uni-kl.de --- For me it looks loke a memory leak: The wine garbage behaviour changes from start to start: almost always after a new start, the garbage behaviour looks different, that means other text areas are broken!

--- Comment #11 from Piotr Caban piotr.caban@gmail.com --- Is it possible to reproduce it with trial version of the application? (while I was trying to do it, it was crashing during registration, is there a workaround for it?)

Trying to reproduce with the trial version of wiso fails, it can't be installed (OLE error)

--- Comment #13 from JB joachim.backes@rhrk.uni-kl.de --- By installing the most recent updates for Sparbuch (version 22.09), I got rid of the decribed Sparbuch desktop problems. Now Sparbuch runs with Wine-1.7.16, and with the most actual Wine-1.7.49.
But I do not have any update details from the sparbuch manufacturer www.buhl.de, so I can't tell why now all things now run flawlessly. The only hint I have is an email from buhl.de where the told me that version 22.09 of Sparbuch would solve the problems which have to do with wine/linux.

--- Comment #14 from Piotr Caban piotr.caban@gmail.com --- Is the older application (that exposes the bug) still available? The bug can be probably closed if it was fixed upstream. Fixing it in wine will be hard without the application.

Hi Piotr,
I'm sorry, but I have no more access to Sparbuch-22.08 and earlier. Perhaps, you should ask www.buhl.de, while pointing to this Wine-BZ. The Sparbuch bug # was:
LGL-830039
I think, you can refer to it.
Kind regards
