If I create a file using the WineLib Notepad and then use WineFile to delete
it, the file is deleted instead of sending it to the Trash application.  The
file is permenantly deleted from the system.  Bug 5055 discusses the file
deletion problem on Linux based PC systems and may apply to this issue.

I've sent a patch to make winefile try to send files to Trash -

As for the file showing up in Mac OS X Trash, we currently don't detect the OS
and will do according to the Freedesktop standard on Mac as well (move the file
to ~/.local/share/Trash). I'd be surprised if the file would appear in the Mac
OS X Trash - I'd expect we would need to write a Mac version of
dlls/shell32/trash.c using Mac APIs.

The patch got accepted and the problem of winefile not sending files to Trash
is fixed. I'd expect you will hit another problem that the file sent to the
Freedesktop.org trash are not visible in the Mac OS Trash. But that's a
different bug.
