Tried to update pricing file by letting application to to the Internet and contact the vendor's server. Once contact is made a window pops up then the application crashes, i.e. quits by closing windows.
This is using version 6.1.2 of ExpressPCB, a free circuit board layout tool.
See http://www.expresspcb.com/ExpressPCBHtm/Free_pcb_layout_software.htm

Confirming, wine 0.9.54, kubuntu feisty. Very easy to reproduce. Install, run the program, choose layout, then update pricing file. Press okay -> crash.

--- Comment #6 from Leland C. Scott kc8ldo@arrl.net 2008-05-11 21:07:38 --- I just tried this application with Wine 1.0 rc1 and it crashes with an error message saying "Run Time Error '14' Out of String Space". This was doing the exact same thing, trying to update the pricing file. This same application would crash on earlier versions of Wine but never generated any error mesaages until now.

--- Comment #9 from Kevin Lynch krlynch@bu.edu 2008-07-07 15:42:02 --- This bug continues to affect ExpressPCB 6.1.4 on Wine 1.0 (Fedora 8, wine-1.0-1.fc8). It affects all network traffic attempts, including "Update Pricing File", "Order Boards", and "Test Ordering Boards". When started from the command line, I get a similar output to the previously attached trace.

This issue is still present. Here is an attachment showing the backtrace produced by wine. I'm using wine-1.1.12 on gentoo. Is there a fix for this?

Why are you using native comctl32/comdlg32? Try with clean .wine.

--- Comment #13 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com 2010-12-19 15:50:43 CST --- Works for me with wine-1.3.9-164-g17e66e0. 'Update price' menu command works and shows some network activity, sent byte amount and after that a successful message box. I don't know how to check if it really updates something or not but there's no crash.
I'm marking this fixed, if you're still able to reproduce that feel free to reopen with added info/steps.
