Neither background music nor sound effects can be heard in 1914: Shells of Fury. The game is running without any sounds.
After 'winetricks directmusic' audio is still not playing. Native dsound.dll didn't help either.

No demo available.

--- Comment #1 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-08-06 12:19:41 CDT --- I'd like to refine my previous statement: using native dmusic *and* dsound dlls used to work with previous versions of Wine (up until 1.3.24). Since then those native dlls have no effect.

Regression test?
I didn't consider this as a regression because audio never worked in the game using only built-in dlls. However, native dmusic and dsound dlls used to work around the problem.
Since http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commit/be158e48ad8ee556941bd3f1ff94ca7...
audio doesn't work even though native dmusic and dsound dlls are installed.

Still a bug in current wine?
Thanks for reminding me to retest this bug. Audio still can't be heard in the game when using only built-in dlls, tested with wine-1.5.5-131-gbdd4294. Now I realize that installing native directmusic and dsound dlls via winetricks makes audio work again. I removed the regression keyword as it was misleading: audio never worked in the game with only built-in dlls.

--- Comment #6 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2012-06-02 14:39:14 CDT --- Actually, this might be a dupe of bug #9027, but I have no proof for that, except that both games need directmusic *and* dsound native dlls to play sound, and the terminal output from #9027 looks similar to the one I attached here.

Well, dmusic is basically unimplemented in Wine. Both games depend on it, so neither have sound. Luckily native works, so it's not a high priority.

--- Comment #8 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.28 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.28 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

--- Comment #9 from Andrew Eikum aeikum@codeweavers.com --- No need to retest, there's been no real progress on dmusic.
